Job Description

Projectory/UnitedLex is currently seeking a Syndicated Loan Closer for a 3-6 month project in Brooklyn, NY. This Analyst will work onsite with our client toorchestrate efficient and accurate trade closings. Successful candidate will manage syndicated Agency deals with respect to pending trades within several portfolios, ensure proper approvals are secured, report and escalate any back valuation or irregular transactions, ensure accurate and timely funding, break funding processing and ensure timely billing, and process all incoming funds for fees, principal and interest.

The Loans Closer will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating trade settlements in the Syndicated Loan Market
  • Interacting with counterparties, traders, banks and administrative agents to close par loan trades
  • Having daily interaction with asset managers, analysts and traders to facilitate communication and accurately reflect loan positions and open trades
  • Managing both settled balances and cash balances to schedule trade closings with counterparties
  • Performing daily, weekly and ad-hoc reporting for upper management
  • Maintaining a dialogue with peers in other lead banks and institutional investors
  • Executing mandates and managing the sell-down process, including preparing marketing materials and engaging potential investors
  • Troubleshooting, escalating and solving problems that arise from trade discrepancies
    • Managing amendments, non-pro-rata paydowns,PIK events and restructurings:  soliciting votes where appropriate, communicating issues with counterparties, preparing spreadsheets with paydown and delay compensationcalculations
    • Performing other projects as needed
  • Performing key administrative duties in the settlement process including:  onboarding new clients through appropriate KYC channels, reconciling trade blotters, preparing audit confirms
  • Monitoring and following up on aged trades and unsigned documents

 

Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of Syndicated Loan Operations experience (leverage finance syndications or leverage finance is preferred)
  • Strong understanding of the syndicated loan market
  • Experience working with both ClearPar and Loan IQ (experience with Bloomberg, Wall Street Office and other similar platforms a plus)
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Capacity to understand complex financial structures and legal documents
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Capacity to work under tight deadlines and to manage priorities
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly organized  Willingness to commit to a 3-6 month project for the duration
  • Able to multi-task in a high-pressure environment
  • BS in Finance, Economics or a related field a plus
